Name Interpretation

Long time no update this blog. But, instead of posting some updates, now we want to write something, well, not too random, though, about our UTAU's name interpretation.

Kai Shindoune
At first, she was named Kai Sawane, hence the voicer alias name, Kairi Hiiragizawa. But, since it was odd (well, swamp sounds doesn't related with music-things after all), so it was changed.
Since Kai itself means 'sea' or 'shell' if it's written on kanji, so the author thought of something that related to ocean and music at the same time.
After searched for references about musical basic and ocean terms, then Shindoune was choosen.
Shindou itself means vibration. In musical/singing terms, there's a vibration techniques whether vibration sometimes also occurs in the ocean.
But, since it's possible for two kanji to have same pronounce and means, Shindou itself can be written in two ways, 震動 and 振動. The first one has a meaning 'to vibrate'. So does the another, but, it also carries another meaning too, which is rhyme. Since rhyme carries more musical-related term than vibrato, also to avoid the ambiguity, then it was chosen as her surname. Hence, Shindoune Kai's name means 'rhyme sounds of the sea' which is usually called as ripple in common terms. The kanji is 振動 カイ

Madane Twins
At first, when Mui was created, his voicer, Kureno wanted to name him after her trait. Then, Madane Mui was chosen as the name. Madane Mui itself has no name interpretation, yet it's a pun of 'mada nemui' which means 'sleepy yet?' or 'I'm sleepy'. The kanji for his name is 又音
ムイ
Since Kureno has quick yet unique voice change, Kai suggested her to make another UTAU as Mui's counterpart instead of genderbender. Thus, Mai was created and kanji for her name is 又音. Madane Mai itself was a pun of 'Mada Nemukunai' (with mai being an abbreviation of mukunai) which means 'not sleepy yet?' or 'I'm still not sleepy', in contrast to Mui.
Madane is written like this 又音 in kanji. Comes from 'another' and 'sound'.
Coincidencally, since there are two Madanes, the kanji can be multiplied to another kanji with different meaning, like 又 + 又 = 双
the kanji 双 itself means twins.
And, accidentally, katakana of Ma in Mai, if it's rotated in 90 degree clockwise, then you invert/mirror it, it will be katakana of Mu, in Mui, much to our suprise.

Yep, that's our UTAUs name interpretation, pretty long, huh?

And, that's all. We'll come with another update!
